The replica TAG Heuer Monaco is undoubtedly one of the most iconic watches in the automotive racing world. While the collection has seen numerous variations over the years, it typically sticks to color schemes featuring shades of blue, red, black, or white. However, for its latest 2024 release, replica TAG Heuer has introduced a limited-edition titanium version of its classic square-shaped chronograph. The new replica TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green stands out with a silver sunburst dial, complemented by deep green accents and bright yellow details.
The replica TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green (ref. CAW218E.FC6565) is essentially the green counterpart to the Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue released last year. Like its predecessor, this Racing Green edition is also limited to just 1,000 pieces. Both watches maintain the Monaco’s vintage design, with the crown positioned on the 9 o’clock side of the case (as opposed to between the pushers at 3 o’clock). In terms of design and construction, the two models are virtually identical, with both featuring silver sunburst dials that highlight their respective colors on the chronograph sub-dials. Swap the blue of last year’s edition for British racing green, and you have the essence of this latest limited model.
The case of the new Clone TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green is made from sandblasted grade 2 titanium and measures 39mm in diameter with a thickness of 14.35mm. The lugs are 22mm apart, creating a total lug-to-lug length of 47.4mm. The bezel is topped by a box-shaped sapphire crystal with a curved upper profile and beveled edges, while the reverse side features a screw-down display caseback. Like other modern Monaco models, this one has angular, oblong chronograph pushers instead of the round pushers found on vintage versions, and it offers water resistance up to 100 meters, protecting it against most moisture exposure.
Much like last year’s blue version, the new replica TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green comes with a silver sunburst dial that retains the Monaco’s original two-register layout, featuring a date window at 6 o’clock instead of a running seconds sub-dial like the updated Monaco models. Both versions include bright yellow accents on the 12 o’clock markers and the centrally placed chronograph seconds hand. However, while the Racing Blue model had blue chronograph sub-dials, this new Racing Green version features green-finished sub-dials. Additionally, the small dots of Super-LumiNova on the outer edges of the hour markers now match the green theme, replacing the blue luminous dots from last year’s model with pale green ones.
Powered by the same Calibre 11 automatic movement as last year’s edition, the 1:1 Clone TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green uses the Sellita SW300-1 base, paired with a Dubois-Depraz module to enable its chronograph function. The performance specifications of the Calibre 11 are consistent with similar movements, running at a frequency of 28,800vph (4 Hz) and offering a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. While this movement replicates the vintage left-crown layout of original Monaco models, it does feel somewhat outdated compared to the in-house movements found in some of replica TAG Heuer’s other offerings, making a modernized left-crown chronograph movement a desirable future development.
As with the rest of the watch, the strap on the replica TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green mirrors its blue predecessor, only now in green calfskin leather. The perforated strap, which fits into the 22mm lugs, comes with a bright yellow lining to match the yellow accents on the dial and hands. Aside from the color change, the strap design remains identical to last year’s model, and it is finished with the same sandblasted titanium folding clasp, featuring a double push-button release and shaped like the vintage Heuer shield logo.
